In The Doll World (ITDW) doll podcast continues its PRIDE Month celebration with an intimate interview with HeXtian, doll customizer and YouTube sensation. HeXtian is a tremendous doll influencer: over 1Million people follow his YouTube show! Listen at https://www.inthedollworld.com/podcasts.html
One of the most powerful things HeXtian shares is his fear! He speaks about how he loves to dress in a variety of clothing styles--including the glamourous 1950s and Drag. If he chooses to go out dressed in these styles, he has to first make sure he is safe. Safety includes: being with a group of people he can trust; carefully choosing where he goes; and, deciding whether the location has a restroom that he can safely use. He understands that a wrong choice can lead to anything from being treated rudely, to being assaulted, to even being murdered. His fear reminds us of the fear marginalized people have experienced--and continue to experience--all over the world.
As a brilliant artist, who empowers others through customized dolls, he continues to find inspiration for his artistry in his favorite childhood shows, the LGBTQ+ community, and celebrities. He also shares his Filipino heritage in his shows.
HeXtian also speaks about how his art is a safe way to express his queerness and love for Drag. He finds strength in sharing the beauty and glamour of Drag in his customizations.
